Kakkadampoyil is known as Malabar’s Ootty, Kakkadampoyil may be a village settled regarding fifty kms aloof from Kozhikode, within the Nilambur Forest vary encompassing the Western Ghats and bordering the close district of Malappuram. It is located at an elevation of Approx. 650 metres and is an ideal place for sightseeing.

Kozhippara waterfalls may be a a part of the Kuthradampuzha stream and may be a most popular picnic spot for journey and nature enthusiasts. It is managed by the Kerala Forest and Wildlife Department and can be visited on all days except Mondays.
The native individuals of Kakkadampoyil live principally on agriculture and poultry farming. Coffee, cocoa, vanilla, coconut, black pepper and plantain are some of the crops grown here. In some areas, rubber plantations are also grown. Several indigenous tribal groups inhabit this place.
A few years back, Kakkadampoyil remained unknown to the outside world; it was mostly frequented only by the locals. But of lately, it started to receive an influx of tourists; especially from the neighbouring districts of Malappuram and Wayanad.

Day 1
Pickup from Calicut Railway Station / Airport. Drive to Kakkadampoyil-The Ooty of Malabar and have a visit to Kozhippara Waterfalls- an ideal location for trekking, rock climbing and swimming. It is one of the best waterfalls, which offer plenty of opportunities to adventure enthusiast. After that visit the Teak Museum about 4 km from the town of Nilambur. It is popular for being the world’s first teak museum and sub center of Kerala Forest Research Institute. Have the lunch and move to Pazhassi Cave-4 kms of Kakkadampoyil-located inside the forest and one can have reach there by 2km of walk from Nayadam poyil village. It is said that the emperor Pazhassi used it to hide from Britishers. Valamthode Waterfalls- situated about 27 km from Nilambur ahead of the river Chaliyar- a sight of beauty and freshness, located amid the tribal settlement. This waterfall is an attraction mainly for domestic tourists. Have your lunch faster and then move to the Amusement Park waiting for you with many rides- a perfect place for families to enjoy especially children. A park built in an eco-friendly method that does not affect the nature. Back to Hotel / Homestay for overnight stay in Calicut.
Day 2
After breakfast move to Mananchira Square, a beautiful park. It is a fusion of the Mananchira, (a freshwater manmade pond) the nearby Tagore and Ansari parks, and the large maidanam (grounds). The palace tank has a traditional architectural design and is evocative of the ancient times. Next move to the sweetest place i.e., Mitai Theruvu (Sweet Street), which is always a perfect place for the sweet lovers. It is one of the busiest places in Calicut, also known to be business hub of the city. After lunch move to Pazhassi Raja Museum .Evening move to Kappad Beach, gateway to the Malabar Coast famous for its beauty and it is it was the place where Vasco da Gama, the famous world explorer first set his foot and the legendary Spice Route came into existence. A perfect setting for tourists who wants to enjoy the sunrise or sunset. Evening departure from Calicut.
